My Recent Trips I just visited Argentina for the first time, and spent two weeks exporing Buenos Aires and Mar Del Plata. Buenos Aires reminded me of a modern European city, with cafe's on every corner, and the smell of fresh bread and other bake goods in the air, coming from the many family owned bakeries. An absolute must, is the cemetery in La Recoleta. Here you can visit the grave of Evita and other famous Argentinians. With the cemetary having mausoleums you get an intriguing view of the many caskets (viewable through the glass)!
If you like to eat like me, you will love the food in Argentina. With heavy European, Spanish and local influences, your culinary experience will be second to none. Here, you will dine, with a two hour meal not being out of the ordinary. The national dish of Argentina is steak, with Argentinian beef being revered throughout the world.
An added bonus for Americans is the exchange rate which is excellent with the average being three Pesos to the Dollar, giving you a true advantage when dining and shopping for locally made items. Argentina is a wonderful vacation spot for the explorer or for the traveler who likes to be pampered.
In March, 2006, I visited the Far East, to include Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia. I recently traveled through the Baltic and visited the U.K., France, Germany, Russia and Denmark. I love to travel, and experience all the world has to offer. With my wife, I cruise often, and love to spend the day watching the waves go by and feel the sea breeze on my face.
